Dr. Blaine A. Keister, DMD

We are delighted to welcome one of our newest team members, Dr. Blaine Keister, who joined our practice on July 13, 2009. Originally from a small, Midwestern town in Illinois, Dr. Keister finds “the familiar small-town feel and sense of community that Elizabethtown offers” to be “comforting and enjoyable.” After graduating summa cum laude from Clemson University in 1999 with a BS degree in Biochemistry, Dr Keister performed biomedical research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine before entering the dental school in 2004.

While at Penn Dental Medicine, Dr. Blaine Keister excelled both academically and clinically. As one of the top students in his class, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Matthew Cryer Honor Societies. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Dr. William S. Kramer Award of Excellence, which is given to a rising junior dental student who demonstrates scholarship, character, and the potential promise for advancement of dentistry and service to humanity.

Upon receiving his DMD degree, he was awarded the Delaware Valley Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Oral lmplantology Award, the International College of Dentists Student Leadership Award, and the Academy of Osseointegration Outstanding Dental Student in Implant Dentistry Award.

After graduation, Dr. Keister completed a one-year general practice residency at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. During his post-doctoral training at York Hospital, he received advanced training and clinical experience in nearly all fields of dentistry, including implantology, periodontics, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, restorative dentistry, and adjunctive orthodontics.

As part of his commitment to excellence, Dr. Keister maintains active membership in the Academy of Osseointegration, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Society, the York County Dental Society, and the Fifth District Dental Society. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, running, and playing tennis…and when he feels like being less active, he enjoys eating at diners.
